What does it matter? Do you intend to rally behind my chosen messiah? You've always been more of an atheist. I do not imagine my presence in your life will change your beliefs.

Whatever rallying I do, it will not be based on religious beliefs, no. But that does not mean I'm unwilling to offer support for... other reasons. But not unconditionally.

Much though I might possibly like to think such a thing, I imagine you are quite simply bored and that alone serves as your motivation.

I do not mind having you on board with my goals, of course. I find your company pleasant, and your capabilities valuable. But you do understand my aims are not a joke. I will not tolerate it if the same boredom that led you to work with me also inspires you to interfere.

For the record, it is highly unlikely I'll be working with you much longer, there being only so long I can tolerate our esteemed employer's penchant for paranoid pettiness. While you may have sufficient motivation to put up with it, I do not. Quite frankly, I don't need this job. I accepted the offer on a whim, more or less; the chance it might open up new avenues that lead elsewhere. So far, the annoyances outweigh any potential prospects.

[After that fairly serious and direct remark, he smiles slightly, his eyes still hard.]

And what do you think my capabilities are?

[ Though not inevitable. Even if it wasn't over this, Chilton likely would have rubbed Hans the wrong way at some point or another. But Starr won't persuade Hans to stick around.

At the question about capabilities, Starr simply shrugs. ]

You are intelligent. You are also charming which can lure individuals into a false sense of security. I imagine you are highly skilled at defending yourself. And you do not lack when it comes to physical capabilities.

[ What they had done did require a great deal of stamina and flexibility! Hans hadn't disappointed. ]

There might come a time when he confides in Starr with regard to his more shady skills, porter-bestowed and otherwise, but it wouldn't be prudent at the moment, he doesn't think, not with this potentially divisive disagreement between them re Chilton.]
